The world’s largest multinational tobacco companies are using consistent strategies to advertise cigarettes to children in 42 majority low- and middle-income countries, as detailed in our recently published article in Tobacco Control

Produced in partnership with the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids, the following video documents the sweeping, on-the-ground surveillance process involving more than 19,500 point of sale (POS) observations near schools and playgrounds in countries where nearly identical, youth-targeted, POS advertising tactics were consistently found—underscoring the opportunity for stronger laws and enforcement to protect kids worldwide:
