This module introduces the role of health professionals in tobacco control and focuses on prevention and cessation counseling services. Physicians from the American Academy of Pediatrics Julius B. Richmond Center of Excellence provide an overview of the challenges and issues health professionals face when they encounter tobacco usage in their pediatric and adolescent patients. This vulnerable population group is exposed to various environmental-social influences that need to be addressed while trying to promote smoke free environments and lifestyles.
