Venezuela (Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela)

Policy Summary:

Companies wishing to import e-cigarettes must indicate whether the product should be classified as a medicinal, consumer good or tobacco derivative.* If regulated as a tobacco- derivative, e-cigarettes cannot be sold to minors, advertised/promoted or used in enclosed public spaces or transport, as dictated by the tobacco control law. If indicated as medicinal or consumer products, they must be subject to extensive clinical trials like other nicotine replacement therapies before being sold, promoted, distributed or used.* At this time, no product has been registered, thus the sale, promotion and distribution of e-cigarettes is illegal per an alert.
